Training: Growing People Potential

CHT2010 On November 8-10, 2010, Shari Black taught various sessions for the “Growing People Potential” Institute presented by the Center for Health Training. Held at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, WA, the Institute is designed to give managers and supervisors an opportunity to explore new ways to motivate staff using effective communication skills, team building, and practical strategies for hiring to retiring.

Growing People Potential 2010 was a big success. Twenty-seven healthcare leaders took part in a three day intensive training process. This very interactive learning experience included presentations and activities focused on:

  • Leadership
  • Communication and Feedback
  • Managing Performance
  • Managing Conflict
  • Stressors and Stress
  • Change Management
  • Teams and How They Work

Participants left the beautiful Columbia Gorge retreat setting at Skamania Lodge filled with new information, ideas and a network of colleagues to connect with in the future.

A big thanks goes to the Center For Health Training for their work coordinating and producing Growing People Potential 2010.  Thank you to the Oregon Primary Care Association, the Idaho Primary Care Association, and the Region X Family Planning Program  for offering scholarships to this wonderful event.
